How to get in touch:
At Rotherham Opportunities College we offer a variety of support via different College Pathways.
We offer Work Placements through several local employers, and ensure we monitor the progress of the students and focus on target areas to ensure continuous development.
At ROC we also offer a Supported Internship Programme, ensuring our students get hands on work experience, in a relevant industry to their aspirations, aligning with their long-term goals with the aim to achieve a positive outcome such as paid employment. We have dedicated mentors to support our students both on Work Placement and Supported Internship.
Alongside this, we offer a variety of support services, including: Pastoral Support, Therapies, Regular Reviews with Students and Employers, Travel Training and much more.
Within college, we support with a holistic approach to Employability, including dedicated sessions for Budgeting, Interview Techniques, CV Building, Personal Statements, Aspirations and other work-related topics such as Health & Safety, GDPR and others.

All of South Yorkshire

As we are a College we have our main Campus Site based in the centre of Rotherham. We offer our students the chance to gain skills related to employment throughout all of South Yorkshire.
Where and how do we support people?
We support our students in College and in their work placement / Supported Internships. This will always be face-to-face.
Can we offer support to employers?
All employers that we work with will have an initial meeting with the Employability Manager to discuss the suitability of the Placement/Internship and ensure it works for everyone involved. We ensure that students undertake any necessary training in college, as well as discuss any Employer inductions required. We have a team of Job Coaches throughout the college that support students with their placements, and regularly liaise with the employers and the Employability Manager to ensure there is consistent dialogue.
