Mencap
Our service, the ‘Activity Learning Hub’, includes courses that prepare people for employment, including Digital Skills, Independent Living and Learning Through Teamwork. Many of these are AQA accredited. We also offer an ‘Enable’ volunteering programme for adults to learn specific workplace skills, and then be matched with a local employer for a volunteering placement. These placements are supported initially, becoming independent over the long term. In addition to our adult day services, we run a range of evening and weekend groups for adults and children, a support service for carers and a range of projects to support health and wellbeing. Please see our website for full details.
We support people with a learning disability and/or autism from ages 6 upwards. We support adults who wish to learn skills transferable to work, and who aspire to volunteer and work. Our ‘Enable’ volunteering programme is for adults who attend our Activity Learning Hub.
To participate in our ‘Enable’ volunteering programme and courses at Activity Learning Hub then you must be a member of Sheffield Mencap. Please contact us to discuss eligibility, we meet and assess each individual to make sure the service is right.
