Success Story: Abeer Asad, Admin and Marketing Apprentice, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC)

Abeer Asad aged 22 is an Admin and Marketing Apprentice at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC). She is based in Rotherham Investment and Development Office (RiDO).

​

Abeer studied a Level 3 IT qualification at  Wales High School. Despite applying to many jobs, Abeer was not successful at interviews. Support from Landmarks Specialist College was life-changing.

​

“During this time, I was stressed and anxious until I met Landmarks Specialist College and enrolled onto their Employment Pathway. This allowed me to develop my employability skills and gain work experience through their Supported Internship programme”, Abeer said.

​

With work skills gained and her confidence increased, Abeer started as an apprenticeship at RMBC in May 2022.

​

“If it wasn’t for Landmarks and RiDO I would still be struggling to find work. I would describe my supported internship as the best years of my life so far. It’s made me realise this is the job I have been looking for and its helped boost my confidence.”
